The Ontario Johne's Program: A Four-Year Program Starting
in 2010

The Ontario dairy industry has developed a provincial plan to
help producers deal with
Johne's infection in their dairy cattle. The program began in
January 2010.
The program has four elements - education, Animal Health Risk
Assessment and
Management Plan (RAMP), testing, and removal of high titre
Johne's cows. The
program offers each producer a financial incentive to test all
lactating cows once during
the four years of the program. Producers will be required to do
the RAMP with their
trained herd veterinarian each year and remove high titer cows
within 90 days of test day.

Ontario Johne's
Program website.
